Hi. I'm Jessica Rose Ayers Light. That's Jessie, to my friends. Or call me Missy, the nickname that really stuck if you grew up with me in the mountains of Colorado. When I go back home I still hear the occasional "Hi, Missy!"
It takes me back to when I would draw caricatures of my brothers, who in retaliation would read my diary aloud to my friends. I can almost see my dachshund Petey posing for long portrait sessions, his blue blanket clamped in his long snout.
I am reminded of making mud cakes with candy red hots baked into their centers by the hot summer sun climbing slowly over the mountains. I dreamed of being an art teacher, candy-store owner and toy-maker. I made a nice profit selling my mud cakes to passersby.
I now live in a rambling brick house with a bright avacodo-green door in a rambling neighborhood in Colorado with a pack of kids, an adoring husband and a passel of pets.
I still enjoy drawing caricatures of all of them on Post-its and distributing them throughout the house and in their lunchbags.
I hope you enjoy the Orange Alligator Art website!
